Batch Oxidation Hastelloy Reactor Set-up

Project-Batch Oxidation Hastelloy Reactor Set-up

A system complete with Quantified Feeding to Analysis Section

Into the details of this set-up

  • Hydrocarbons are chemical compounds consisting of only carbon and
hydrogen atoms. Alkanes, alkenes, and alkynes are the hydrocarbons
that consist of only carbon and hydrogen atoms.
  • Hydrocarbons are an important part of our lives in the form of Fuels.
  •  The oxidation of hydrocarbons is a free radical-initiated autocatalytic
chain reaction. The reaction is slow at the start and accelerates with
increasing concentration of the resulting hydroperoxides.
  • This plant is dedicated to Hydrocarbon Conversion using Oxidation
    Process.
  • Any basic plant consists of a Feed Section, Reactor Section and the
    Product Section.
  • While this particular plant consists of all these elements, it has some
unique features such as an Automatic Lifting lowering arrangement for
the reactor, to give the user the best experience, and a section dedicated
    for Gas Analysis.
  • The sections of this particular plants along with major equipment are-
  • 1. Feed Section
  • 2. Reactor Section
  • 3. Separation Section
  • 4. Product Section
  • 5. Analysis Section
  • 6. Automation Section
1. Feed Section
  • Mass flow Controller for feeding gas
  • Pump for liquid feed
  • Coriolis Mass flow Controller for feeding liquid
  • Feed Vessel with weighing scale
2. Reactor Section
  •  Consists of 1 L Hastelloy Reactor Designed at a temperature of
300 Deg. C and Pressure of 100 Bar.
  • Automatic Lifting Lowering arrangement
  • Precise pressure Control to the reactor has been provided
3. Separation Section
  • Gas Separation – Separated gases further passed to analysis section
  • Liquid Separation – Separated liquid to product vessel
  • Scrubber
4. Product Section
  • Product Vessel with Weighing Scale.
  • Coriolis Mass Flow Controller for Precise flow control of product.
5. Analysis Section
  • Gas Analyzers for various gases such as CO2, CH4, CO, O2.
  • Wet Gas Meter for Mass Balance.
6. Automation Section
  • Fully Automated system to carry out the process, with a control
    panel, SCADA based system.
